This wine is offered En Primeur, with an est. delivery in late 2024/early 2025.
Resurrected by life-long Burgundy lover Mark O’Connell in 2011 and our dear friend Pierre Meurgey, Domaine Clos de la Chapelle is headquartered at the Chateau de Bligny, owned by Pierre and no less than Dominique Lafon. The talent behind the new Domaine is considerable, and the wines are already getting rave reviews from the likes of Allen Meadows (Burghound), Neal Martin & Jasper Morris.
We were so impressed by the wines after tasting the 2022s and were surprised to hear that they had little presence in the UK, so it is a real pleasure to offer these wines.
“Smoke on a sea breeze, pure and crystalline, apple skin and honeyed pears, deep and intense, tightly wound currently but packed with mineral weight. Good balance of salinity and ripe fruits, with oak well integrated, mid-weight, nice levels of glycerol and a light tartness, peach bitters on the finish which is deceptively long, as when you think it’s fading another wave of flavour builds on the back palate.”
